:: SERVER LOAD BALANCING ::

Prime Internet has been offering server Load Balancing since 1996.
We only use Cisco Content Management modules, Switches and Dell PowerEdge Servers.

Server Load Balancing can be added to any dedicated server plan

Load Balancing services are designed to provide you with a redundant and cost-effective server platform that will prevent downtime and allow for unlimited traffic growth. With a load balanced environment running your websites you can rest assured that hardware failures and sudden spikes in traffic won't interrupt your critical operations or cause you to miss sales.

Why should you load balance ?

1. Salability - Easily accommodate traffic growth and server load demands by distributing the load across multiple servers handling the same website(s).

2. Performance – Increase the performance while reducing lag and delay times for server requests. Using our Load Balancing and Cluster solutions we can direct traffic to server with the least load in the server pool. This allows your website(s) to always appear crisp and fast to your visitors no matter how much any single server becomes loaded

3. High Availability - We can help you eliminate downtime or outages by redirecting traffic away from failed servers to other servers in the load balanced pool without problems. If you loose a member server the remaining servers in the Load Balanced Pool will pick up all outstanding traffic and server those requests without the website visitor ever knowing. In addition to fault tolerance Load Balancing also allows you to purposely remove servers from the Load Balance pool for upgrades and maintenance.

Prime Internet uses only the best in Load Balancing technology, which is why we deploy Cisco Content Switching Modules from directly within our high capacity routers. This gives us the ability to load balance any server from within any rack at our multiple data centers. Also this allows us to simply out gun our competition with the ability to load balance up to 10Gigs of sustained traffic per cluster node.

Here is a typical load balanced server setup. It consists of 2 webserver and a central storage SAN array. All the data traffic comes into our network through our large Cisco routers and is load balanced between the 2 front end webservers. Those front end webservers pull all their web data from a single shared data storage array. The data storage array is made up of multiple Network Appliance NetApp Filers. Each Filers is triple redundant and runs massive RAID disk arrays ensuring 100% uptime for the data source.

Hardware Specs:

Router:
Cisco Catalyst 6500 Routers
Cisco Dual Sup720 Processing Modules

Load Balance Module:
Cisco Dual CSM Modules

Transport Layer Switching:
HP Procurve Layer 2
Cisco Layer 3

Webserver Hardware:
Dell 2850 PowerEdge

Storage SAN:
Network Appliance F800 Series NetApp Filers

As the load increases on the front end servers more can be added without any downtime or impact to the already running operation. As you can see this simple setup can grow rather easily and scale up to 100's of front end servers per node.
