HISTORY

THE BEGINNING
Prime Internet was started back in 1993 as a small regional hosting company. Back then the company specialized in offering dial-up Internet access, small application hosting, and the sale of custom built servers. By 1995 things had grown to 6 full T-1 lines and a hand full of Dedicated Server Customers. Operating out of a very small 1200Sqft office a small group of engineering managed to keep things running smoothly. Things were cramped, the coffee was horrible, and online gaming wasn't invented yet.

The company was founded on a simple pricipal... "quality not quantity". The idea was that people would be willing to pay a little more to get top quality rather than risk their data to any lessor operation. This approach seemed to pay off in a major way.

GROWTH
In 1998 the whole Internet seemed to come alive almost overnight. Prime Internet became heavily involved with Linux and FreeBSD as a service platform. Prior to this Windows NT was the main offering. The company moved from its very small offices to a 4000sqft office and started to build our own private Data Center on site. At first Prime installed 2 OC-12 circuits and were deploying dedicated servers for customers as fast as our engineers could build them. For the next few years the company experienced growth in hosting like nothing it could have imagined. The main joke was that the main office center was like a fire station, the tech's could never leave. Sometimes our lead tech's would literally stay at the office for days straight. Things were that fast paced. Building on our main principals of "quality not quantity" Prime Internet's approach really paid off. Customers were ready to see that price and price alone were not reasonable justifications for selecting a hosting company.

NEW HOME
In early 2002 we moved from our private Data Center to our new 80,000sqft home in Level3's Tustin Gateway. We immediately started a 4Gig build-out our racks, cabinets, and cage area in this facility. We also moved our NOC and our corporate offices to our new 5000sqft office complex. With increases in staffing came a need for more space, and now there was finally enough of it. Since Prime Internet has always maintained its own equipment there has always been a need for a dedicated technical testing and assembly area. The new office not only had warehouse space but also a 20 foot long technical assembly bench.

NEW MARKETS
In 2003 Prime Internet started its wholesale bandwidth division and started selling Level3 bandwidth to many of our old competitors nationwide. You might be surprised to know that we supply the majority of our competitors with their primary homed carrier, Level3. In 2004 we launched our Agent program for our wholesale division. Now Prime Internet supports a complete Agent Channel Program for selling our bandwidth and port services.

THE FUTURE
With big plans in the works Prime Internet hopes to aggressively expand its wholesale markets. By investing the right resources and equipment there is little hope that the company will have a chance to rest any time soon. Maintaining forward momentum, quick response times, and providing quality service at a reasonable price is what Prime Internet is all about.
