3. BGP4 Routing
Prime Internet runs the Border Gate Protocol (BGP4) routing redundancy. Our 100% switched, Cisco powered network employs Cisco 12000 GSR's and Cisco 6500 Cat Series routers running HSRP ( Hot Standby Router Protocol ) to ensure that data can be routed even in the event of a router failure. The BGP4 protocol is a standard that allows Packet Routing to be sent out from Prime Internet's Network over the best route possible. Because of our redundant network architecture, packets may be sent via alternative routes even if they are being delivered to the same end user. Should one of our primary routes fail, packets leaving our network are automatically redirected through another route via a different physical path. All of this is managed via our 24x7 NOC.

4. Real-Time Backup System
Your data is recorded directly from the RAID storage as its stored. These storage areas consist of hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly slots. When you first upload your data to our servers the initial hourly slot is being recorded in Real-Time. In 4 hours the 1st ( initial ) hourly slot is moved to the 2nd slot and the 1st slot is open again to copy Real-Time data. This process continues as a trickle down effect. The hourly slots move down until they hit the 4th slot, then they move into the 1st daily slot, then into the weekly slot, then the monthly slot and so on.
